We’re creating an app that enables seamless, intuitive collaboration between humans and AI across a wide range of tasks — from inbox management and writing, to complex data analysis and beyond. We're seeking a talented & driven software engineer passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences to help us take Shortwave to the next level.

The compensation for this role ranges from $150k to $190k salary, with equity between 0.4% and 0.8%.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, build, and refine user experiences end-to-end, collaborating closely with customers from initial concept through final delivery and validation.
• Proactively identify & help improve usability, discoverability, and other product challenges.
• Contribute actively to our frontend component library, enhancing both user experience and team development speed.
• Step up wherever needed — collaborating across our startup to ensure collective success and growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to design and build high quality user-facing applications for web and/or mobile.
• Strong frontend engineering skills, with experience in Typescript and React.
• An AI-first mindset, actively using cutting-edge AI tools to boost personal productivity in coding, research, communication, and beyond.
• Strong product intuition, combined with a relentless commitment to shipping high-quality products that delight users.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bonus points: Experience building agentic AI systems or training custom AI models.
